New Zealand Rolls-Royce & Bentley Club (Inc)

WELCOME!!
Welcome to the website of the New Zealand Rolls-Royce and Bentley Club Inc. This site introduces us to people of all ages, who have an interest in Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars of all ages, and who would like to know more about the New Zealanders who share this interest.

Also, this site keeps our members and friends up to date on our activities, and helps them to communicate with each other on matters social, technical and historical, that are related to our motor cars. Members seeking technical advice about their motor cars can also use the e-mail button above, to contact our Technical Liaison Officer.

The following pages contain information about the NZRR&BC, its activities, current and future, and its services to members. You will also find the names of people to contact, if you would like to come along to some of our meetings as a guest, and perhaps to join the Club. (You don't have to own a Rolls-Royce or Bentley; you just have to like them). And if you are thinking of buying a Rolls-Royce or Bentley we may be able to help you find a good one, or at least avoid a bad one!

You can use links on this site to contact other clubs for Rolls-Royce and Bentley enthusiasts overseas, along with the manufacturers, and those businesses who take paid advertisements in our magazine. Also there are links to other organisations with similar interests, which include the history of the Rolls-Royce and Bentley companies, their people and their motor cars.

2007 Peking to Paris Motor Challenge

Kiwis win Gold!

On May 27th this centennial re-enactment started from Tianenmen Square, Beijing and headed overland for Paris. Those taking part included our own Neville Jordan and Bruce McIlroy, in Neville's 1922 Silver Ghost 7KG. Keeping them company from NZ were Harold McNair and Anne Thomson in a 1930 Delage D8S. Vintage and veteran Rolls-Royces and Bentleys from other countries also took part. The Challenge finished in Paris on June 30th.

For full details of this event together with progress reports and details of individual entrants' performances, click here

We congratulate Neville and Bruce on their splendid achievement of 2nd place in the Pioneer (pre-1922) class, and in winning a gold medal in the process. The class winner was another Silver Ghost driven by Frederick Brown and Thomas Stevenson.

To hear Neville interviewed on National Radio, by Kim Hill, after they had arrived in Paris, click here then click on the appropriate programme heading.

For information on the original event in 1907, read 'The Mad Motorists" by Allen Andrews, published by Harrap in 1964 and reprinted in 1980.
